At May I, every piece is carefully crafted and quality tested to ensure it can be enjoyed for years to come. While our jewellery is made with premium materials, all metals naturally oxidise over time and will benefit from proper care and maintenance.
Our Materials
Waterproof Collection
Our waterproof pieces are crafted with 18K gold micron plating over a stainless steel base, finished with a premium electrophoretic (e-coating) for added durability. These styles are identified by the Waterproof tag on the product page.
Selected Mini Earrings
A selected range of our mini earrings is crafted from 925 sterling silver with premium 18K gold plating. Sterling silver allows us to create intricate, lightweight designs while maintaining exceptional quality. Please refer to each product description to see which material your piece is made from.

Our silver jewellery is crafted from 925 sterling silver.
Caring for Your Jewellery
Cleaning
Gently wipe your jewellery with the complimentary polishing cloth included with every May I order to remove oils and everyday residue. Regular polishing will help maintain your jewellery’s shine.
Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaning products that are not specifically designed for gold-plated or sterling silver jewellery.
For Long-Lasting Wear
- Keep jewellery away from perfumes, cosmetics, hairsprays, lotions, sunscreens, and other beauty products. Apply these before putting on your jewellery.
- Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from humidity. We recommend avoiding storage in bathrooms or other high-moisture areas.
- Although our Waterproof Collection is designed for everyday wear, including water exposure, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to saltwater and chlorinated pools whenever possible to maximise the lifespan of the gold finish.
- For our selected sterling silver gold-plated mini earrings, we recommend removing them before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping to help preserve their finish.
